My Model Esther the Virtuous Leader ,Volume 3, Ages 5-8

 Part 1

In a powerful kingdom during the reign of King Ahasuerus, an elaborate feast was hosted by the king. King Ahasuerus invited many people, from great to small, to show the riches of his glorious kingdom.

King Ahasuerus requested the queen, Queen Vashti, to show her beauty to his guests. Unfortunately, Queen Vashti ignored the king's request. This vexed the king, and he decrowned Queen Vashti.

After a while, the king declared a search for beautiful damsels all over the kingdom with the intention of picking a new queen.

At about the same time in Shushan the Citadel, the king's kingdom, there lived a Jew named Mordecai. He had a niece whom he trained as his own daughter because she had neither mother nor father. She was called Esther; she was lovely and beautiful, so the king's messengers chose her alongside other women to go to the palace so that the king could examine them all and select one as his new queen.

Esther the Jew was favored among every other woman because she pleased Hegai, the custodian of the women. She was given the best place in the palace, maidservants, beauty products, and an allowance. Every woman in the king's palace was to appear before the king, and whoever finds favor with the king shall be crowned queen.

During Esther's visit, she wore only that which Hegai chose for her. Everyone who saw her loved her deeply, including the king. She captivated their hearts, and the king loved Esther more than all the other women.

Esther 2:17-18 ICB

[17] And the king was pleased with Esther more than with any of the other virgins. And he liked her more than any of the others. So King Xerxes put a royal crown on Esther’s head. And he made her queen in place of Vashti.

[18] Then the king gave a great banquet for Esther. He invited all his important men and royal officers. He announced a holiday in all the empire. And he was generous and gave everyone a gift.

The Writers Note

Why was Esther chosen among other women? She was singled out by God to become the queen at that time. In addition to this, Esther had leadership qualities within her. She was wise; she asked the king's messengers what to wear before appearing before the king, wanting to know what pleased the king. When you relate with God, do you please Him? Our deepest reason to live is to please our Maker at all times. Find out from God's word what He likes and dislikes, and, as Esther did, do not overlook anyone. Ensure you please the Lord on a daily basis.

Affirmation

Lord, I seek Your wisdom as I please You daily. Thank You for choosing me to become greater than my fears and doubts.
