My Model; The Introduction
One might look at the title of this article, wondering what it's all about. I believe we all experience or relive specific characters in the Bible during times of joy, long-suffering, and achievements in our lifetimes. It might interest you to know that at each stage of your life, you are reenacting the life of a character in the Bible, and if you are wise, you can study them all to gain insight into your expected future. Do not quote me wrongly; it doesn't necessarily mean that your life has to end exactly as the model you choose to follow. I know that when you fight your battles the way our ancient characters fought theirs, you will certainly win just as they did.
For example, if we inquire from God before making any decision, as King David did before fighting most of his battles, we will win like David.
1 Samuel 30:8 ICB
[8] Then David prayed to the Lord. He said, “Should I chase the people who took our families? Will I catch them?” The Lord answered, “Chase them. You will catch them. You will succeed in saving your families.”
If we face battles like Esther faced, we will prevail.
Esther 5:2-3 ICB
[2] The king saw Queen Esther standing in the courtyard. When he saw her, he was very pleased. He held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther went up to him and touched the end of the scepter. [3] Then the king asked, “What is it, Queen Esther? What do you want to ask me? I will give you as much as half of my kingdom.”
I know that if you follow God's will for your life faithfully, just as Abraham followed, you will be blessed as he was.
Genesis 18:18 ICB
[18] Abraham’s children will certainly become a great and powerful nation. And all nations on earth will be blessed through him.
This article will help you discover great insights as we study intensely about the ancient models from God's word. When you make God's sons and daughters in the Bible your models, you receive ancient mantles (their graces). I can only imagine one converting the graces of Jesus, Paul, David, etc.
I believe this article doesn't replace your personal Bible study; instead, it will help you become drawn to and addicted to your Bible as you discover hidden truths. I also believe it would help replace models that God doesn't approve of in your life. As a believer, there are models that we ought not to idolize or emulate. These models emulate their father, the devil, and if we try to follow their patterns, we end up in errors. It doesn't matter how we sugarcoat it or how we try to make the devil look good— even if he wears the beautiful white robe of an angel, he will still be the devil and his children are still his until they decide to embrace the Lord.
Be wise; join us in this journey as we study our ancient models who lived on earth.
Affirmation: Lord, I connect to you even more as I study about Jesus and other ancient figures.
Shalom.
