David and Goliath
David, a young shepherd with a fearless heart, broke a record in the Bible and was used by God to do what seemed impossible to men. David grew up in Israel during the reign of King Saul, the first king of Israel. He was born into Jesse's family and was made to tend to the sheep while his brothers were sent to war. While he cared for the sheep, he became closer to God; he drew strength from God even as he killed two wild animals with his bare hands. He killed a lion and a bear that attempted to harm his sheep. Jesse asked David to take food supplies to his brothers, who had gone to the battlefield. Upon his arrival, he discovered that there was a giant named Goliath who had sworn to defy the God the Israelites serve and also destroy them all if they didn't bring forth a champion to fight him.
